Counselor

Hello! My name is Mrs. Kreifels.  I have been the 7-12 school counselor at Conestoga since the 2014-2015 school year.  I grew up not far from the Conestoga area in Syracuse, NE.  After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a business education degree, I began my career in education. I taught business and computer classes at Malcolm Public Schools for 10 years.  During that time my passion for career education, preparing youth to transition through the different parts of life, and the positive relationships built with students, caused me to purse a masters degree in school counseling. 

After receiving my masters from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, I was excited when the opportunity came to work at Conestoga. From the start Conestoga felt like home.  The entire community has been very welcoming.   My family still lives near Syracuse where my husband farms and daughter attends school.

I look forward to continuing to work with the Conestoga students and community.  My passions as a school counselor include; college and career readiness, academic success, and most importantly helping students become advocates for themselves.   When youth learn the skills to advocate for themselves, it is amazing what they can accomplish in all aspects of their lives.
